I've added a search field on every page at Magnatune.
The search program I wrote checks (in order) artist names, albums, song names, collection types, artist bio text and pages in the /info section. The results are grouped and ordered by these criteria.

Very nice! Maybe it's the holiday wine talking but I wonder if a simple Magnatune API might result in anything interesting. I can't think of any applications off the top of my head but maybe someone else would be able to do something interesting. Integrate Magnatune artists/data/sales links into their own sites, etc. I'm basically just typing to myself here.

An API for searching, or an API in general?
There is an API for Magnatune already, at
and data feeds too.

As I wrote that I was having some distant memories of an API. I guess I should listen to the voices.
