Magnatune blog: Number of artists at Magnatune by genre

A journalist today asked me how many artists and albums I had for each genre, and I found I didn't have the answer at hand. So, I've created a new page at
http://magnatune.com/info/stats/artists_albums_by_genre

which counts the number of artists, and separately, number of albums, Magnatune has for each genre.
One thing that was unexpected is how closely the number of albums per genre tracks the sales in that genre, ie,

Classical: 34% of sales, 29% of albums
Electronica: 12% of sales, 15% of albums
Ambient: 7% of sales, 7% of albums
World: 13% of albums, 12% of sales
Rock: 9% of albums, 7% of sales

I don't know which way the correlation runs -- it may be that we attract albums in the rough proportion we well, or that we sell about an equal average number of each album, and thus more albums in one genre means more sales.
