Thanks for the great info John!!! It's good to see that listeners are taking the time to check out the Hip Hop genre, let alone all the great music here at Magnatune...We should have some more music coming your way in June/July...

I wonder if the searches for Moonset are by people looking for

http://www.moonsetmusic.com/cd.htm

If they are that popular maybe you should sign them up to Magnatune!

who knows? - perhaps it's this one

http://www.myspace.com/maikoono

or even

one of life's mysteries...

Just curious - when you take the #2 link for Mozart you get "1 Artist"

Daniel-Ben Pienaar: virtuoso pianist playing Bach and Mozart

however on his page there seems to be only links to (very good) Bach albums despite it having "Liner Notes for Mozart Complete Piano Sonatas" at the bottom of the page

not sure if I am missing something here?

cheers

re: "Mozart and Daniel-Ben Pienaar"

If you search for "Mozart" you should get 4 album hits and quite a few song hits, such as:
# "Mozart Klavier Trios" by Streicher Trio
# "Mozart 4 Quartets for Strings and Winds" by American Baroque
# "Mozart Orchestral Works" by Philharmonia Baroque
# "Mozart in the Age of Enlightenment" by Seth Carlin

As to Daniel-Ben Pienaar, he was approached by a record label who wanted to exclusively release his Mozart, so he asked us to remove it from Magnatune. That doesn't happen very often but I respect the wishes of the musicians who ask for that.

Hi,

I just found Magnatune while using Rhythmbox on Ubuntu 10.04 ... I have to say a very different business model that really makes music more affordable

I'm just wondering, if I buy Magnatune's subscription, can I then download high quality songs from Rhythmbox? Or do I have to download the songs from Magnatune website?

Rhythmbox has purchase menu, but isn't Magnatune subscription base?

Rhythmbox allows you to download the high quality files from within itself, so that you don't have to go the Magnatune web site. You can actually just "drag and drop" songs from Rhythmbox onto your desktop, and that should download them.
